Katie from Cutting Crew Queens Park gives us some great hints and tips to keep your hair in top condition throughout the Summer season.

Kerastase Bain Chroma Riche Cutting Crew Queens ParkClients always leave the salon feeling and looking fabulous, however at home it may be a different story. Your hair should look and feel amazing in between visits to the salon too. We are hair consultants, and prescribe a haircare regime for home use tailored to your hair concerns.

As summer is here (hopefully), and summer holidays are around the corner it is so important to protect your hair from common holiday damage. We go on holiday to lie in the sun and swim in the sea and bathe in the pool. As we all know we need to protect our skin, your hair also needs protected.
For blondes a great shampoo to use is Kerastase Bain Chroma Riche, it has a UV filter and anti-fade technology which will keep you blondes looking fresh and untarnished.

A great shampoo for coloured hair is the Kerastase Bain Soliel, this is an ‘after-sun’ shampoo and will remove the chlorine, sand and salt from your hair whilst moisturising and looking after your hair fibre and structure. Leaves your colour looking radiant and super shiny!

For during the day it is really important to add haircare to part of your topping-up-the-suntan-lotion time. There are products that are specific to protecting your hair from the UV rays, chlorine and sea water and can range from sprays, gels or crèmes and come in different strengths. These products will prevent your hair from holiday aggressions by creating and UV shield and waterproof barrier and strengthen and moisturise simultaneously.

It is so important to treat your hair every now and again. This can be done daily by using a beautifying hair oil. These come in different varieties for every hair concern. Infused with vitamins and minerals as well as a blend of four precious oils. An alternative way to treat your hair is with a deep conditioning Masque.

Apply a 50 pence sized amount to towel-dried hair after shampoo, instead of your daily conditioner, to lengths and ends. Comb through with a wide-tooth comb or a TangleTeezer and leave for 10-15 minutes and rinse thoroughly.

Heat damage is so common and is so easily prevented by using heat protectors. A heat protector will prevent your hair from becoming dehydrated or brittle. The best heat protectors I have worked with and have seen the best results are the Kerastase Thermique’s, these are heat activated treatments.

Apply a pea sized amount throughout the lengths and ends of your hair and with the what’s left smooth through the top on towel dried hair and blow dry and style as usual. No extra heat protection is needed once this is applied.

For those who over do it with their hair straighteners and curling wands you can use the L’Oreal Tech Ni Art Constructor. This is a light weight aerosol with a light hold. Spray 15-20cm away from dry hair and use heated tools over the top. This product has won InStyle’s Best Beauty Buys for the last 3 years!

Our best sellers at the moment are our hair management program’s. These are advanced concentrates which are applied to the scalp to encourage thicker, stronger, fuller healthy hair within a month. The results are absolutely amazing and the technology behind these products actually blows my mind.
